The Duke of Edinburgh award is a programme of activities for you to do in your spare time. There are three Awards to try for: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Gold takes the longest to do and is the hardest one to try for - usually, people start off on the Bronze award.

It takes at least 6 months to do a Bronze Award, at least 12 months for a Silver and at least 18 months for a Gold Award.  If you already have a Duke of Edinburgh's Award, it may take you less time.

You'll discover how choosing, planning and achieving personal goals can change your life. It's proving popular, as over 225,000 young people in the UK are now doing the Award. What's more, as many employers regard the Award as an extra qualification, what you do could even benefit your career.

And, with so many others taking part, you're sure to make some new friends too - and, of course, you'll have the time of your life!
